Samsung Electronics introduces E-Warranty Service for customers

Samsung electronics commits to reducing fake and stolen handsets with introduction of e-warranty service for customers

In a unique move to reduce the sale of fake and stolen handsets, and to give customers the option of checking the authenticity of a product they are purchasing, Samsung has introduced the all purpose 'e-warranty service' in Ghana. The 'e-warranty service' offers customers a double service, as it enables them to check the status of any phone they intend to buy and register purchased phones in addition.

This initiative, according to Service Manager Frank Atta-Owusu 'is directly targeted at reducing and ultimately putting an end to the current era of stolen hand set devices and giving the customer an absolute peace of mind they require in purchasing any handset from Samsung. We are particularly worried about the adverse effects these activities have on the public and to show our commitment to fighting this, we have introduced the e-warranty service that allows customers to verify the authenticity of any product they either intend to purchase or actually purchase'.

He further explained that 'it also provides customers with the opportunity to register the product in their name. This way, they can track the whereabouts of their handset should it get lost and they can also check where the handset they are buying is a stolen handset, a new handset, and whether or not the handset has been previously registered. This is what we stand for -proving innovative solutions to make life much easier for our customers. They are the reason why we exist and our mandate as a customer centric brand requires that we join hands with them and create the future together'.

By simply sending a text message to the short code 1453 on all networks, customers can access the service and enjoy the full benefits that come with it. The service is to ultimately reduce the inconvenience that comes with illegal purchase of handsets and give the customer the assurance and absolute peace of mind that comes with purchasing a Samsung handset. The Samsung e-warranty service is available at the Samsung Service centre and all Samsung Brand Shops and authorised retail partners nationwide.
