Miss Lydia Alhassan, the Chief Executive Officer of Concern Life Foundation (CLF), has said the Foundation is seeking to train 1,000 women in soap making and fabric designing across Ghana’s 10 administrative regions.
As part of its project, she said, the Foundation is targeting to give hands-on training to 100 women in each of the 10 regions in shower gel, shampoo, cream, Ointment, liquid soap, parazon, fabric designing and batik tie & dye making.
She told the Ghana News Agency in an interview that the 10 months project was aimed to strengthening the capacity of at least 10 persons in various categories.
They include head porters (Kayayee), teenage mothers, and persons with disability, widows and other unemployed young women in apprenticeship training of their choice.
“On 1st January, 2018 "She Preneur" project was launched with the aim to offer employment and Livelihood opportunities for over 1000 "She" (girls & Women) within the 10 regions in Ghana from January to October, 2018”, Miss Lydia said.
The 25-year old CEO mentioned that this month “ShePreneur” project would take place on March 17, 2018 at the Kyeremankumah new market continuation church in the Brong Ahafo Region.
“Upper West and Upper East regions received their training in January and February respectively, she said: “and it is now time for the Brong Ahafo Region.”
The activities of CLF programme, which is named as “ShePreneur”, is geared towards contributing massively to Sustainable Development Goals 1, 2, 8 and 17.
Miss Lydia called on benevolent organizations, Lawmakers and other stakeholders to assist the foundation roll out more robust and skill-oriented programmes to help train more girls and women to improve their livelihoods.
