Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom, the Group President of Groupe Nduom, has paid a working visit to some projects financed by Gold Coast Securities in the Western Region to ascertain the progress of work and how certificates could be raised to recoup investment.
One of such projects is the Dixcove Sea Defense being undertaken by Rajga Civil Engineering Limited in the Ahanta West Municipality of the Region where he first visited.
The capital intensive sea defense project coupled with others investment by the company in local infrastructure development including building of schools under the GETFuND project are but a limited number of the over 600 areas the company had invested clients monies.
Dr Nduom told the media at the project site that some 15 years ago, the Gold Coast Securities began investing in infrastructure development of the country by assisting Ghanaian contractors to locally ensure that the country's built environment was enhanced for development.
"So people should not think that we cannot return their funds to them....like this sea defense project, clients monies are in projects yet to be recouped; this panic withdrawals cannot help our economy...all your monies are locked in projects and infrastructure development for the sake of our country's growth and prosperity."
By investing in the sea defense project, the Dixcove community would be saved from the ravaging attitude of the sea which has already swallowed portions of the community.
Nana Ankoma Blay III, the Dwanetuahene, expressed gratitude to Gold Coast Securities for investing in the project.
"We did not have any trust from the beginning as many contractors have come and left due to the lack of mobilization to start the project to save the community...the sea has already eaten half of the community without any sign of a saviour...we were therefore happy to when this contractors started work two years ago."
Mr Abdul Razak, The CEO of the company, said though he mobilized to site some two years ago with financial support from Gold Coast Securities, it is still waiting for certificate to be paid by the government.
The first phase of the sea defense project would be completed in August next year to pave way for the construction of breakwater to save fishermen from sea currents.
Mr Razak assured Dr Nduom that he would respond as soon as the financial green light was given by the Ministry of Finance in terms of payments.
