The benchmark index moderated by 4.11 points (-0.19%) to settle at 2,210.43 with a -14.07% year-to-date return while market capitalization shed 0.08% to settle at GH¢56.31 billion.
SIC Insurance advanced on the day, gaining GH¢0.01 (10.00%). Meanwhile, losses in Societe Generale (-1.49%), Standard Chartered (-1.06%) and Ecobank Ghana (-0.51%) lowered the GSE Financial Index by 7.66 points (-0.41%), closing at 1,882.55 with a -12.59% year-to-date return.
The SAS Manufacturing Index recorded no gains or losses for a consecutive session, closing at yesterday’s level of 3,745.98 with a -19.50% year-to-date return.
Two banking stocks, Standard Chartered (GH¢16.82) and Societe Generale (GH¢0.66) hit their year lows.
A total of 159,706 shares valued at GH¢295,470.95 summed up today’s session, compared with 165,163 shares valued at GH¢246,282 in the previous session. Enterprise Group Limited dominated trades by volume and value for the second straight session, accounting for 81.79% of total volume traded and 75.15% of total value traded.
