The International Workplace Group (IWG), the world’s largest platform for work, has expanded its footprint in Ghana with the opening of a new Regus workspace at the OMA Building in Accra’s Airport Residential Area.
The facility, launched on October 1, 2025, offers private offices, meeting rooms, co-working areas and creative spaces, tailored to meet the needs of both established firms and start-ups. It also includes IWG’s Design Your Own Office service, allowing businesses to customise their working environment.
The opening forms part of IWG’s global growth drive, which has seen the company sign 899 new locations in the first half of 2025 alone — more than its first decade of operations combined. The group’s network now spans more than one million rooms across 121 countries, and it has achieved its highest-ever revenue, cash flow and earnings growth.
The new Regus location was made possible through a partnership with Oil and Marine Agencies Ghana Limited, the building owner, who invested in the IWG platform to transform the property into a branded flexible workspace. The move reflects the rising demand for hybrid and decentralised models of working, accelerated by businesses seeking lower costs and employees demanding improved work-life balance.
Research commissioned by IWG shows that hybrid working can boost productivity by up to 11 per cent, while delivering average cost savings of $11,000 per employee for companies. Globally, flexible workspace is projected to account for 30 per cent of all commercial real estate by 2030.
Mark Dixon, CEO and founder of IWG, said the expansion underlines the importance of Accra as a business hub. “We are establishing a stronger and much-needed footprint in Accra with this latest opening. As an important business hub, the Airport Residential Area is a fantastic place for us to boost our expansion plans. We are very pleased to work in partnership with Oil and Marine Agencies Ghana Limited to develop the Regus brand under a management agreement that will add a cutting-edge workspace to their building,” he said.
Mr Dixon added: “Our opening in Accra comes at a time when more and more companies are discovering that flexible and platform working is incredibly popular with employees, improving their work-life balance and satisfaction, while also providing a multitude of benefits to companies. Our workplace model is proven to increase productivity and allows for a business to scale up or down at significantly reduced costs while providing access to thousands of locations.”
IWG, whose brands include Regus, Spaces, HQ and Signature, serves millions of people globally and counts 83 per cent of Fortune 500 companies among its customer base.
