WONDERFUL performances from a star-studded line up and an unexpected but delightful end to a feud; these were just a few of the experiences rapper, M.anifest delivered at his Manifestivities concert on Sunday, December 23 at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra.
Over the years, Manifest has established himself as one of the best rappers in the country and patrons of his concert were certain they were in for a treat on the night but not many could have expected that it would be one of the most exciting shows of the entire Christmas season.
The talking point of Manifestivities was clearly the appearance of Sarkodie, with whom M.anifest had had an ongoing feud, on stage but there was more to the show than that.
Each of the artistes who took the stage on the night from Kwesi Arthur, B4Bonah, Efya, Trigmatic, Worlasi, King Promise, Nigerians Simi and Burna Boy as well as various underground acts put up splendid performances that kept the crowd on their feet throughout the night.
Although the concert was scheduled to begin at 6pm, it kicked off after 8pm with a DJ battle which gave a hint of what fans would be treated to on the night. Equally impressive was the line up of underground artistes who came to get the crowd warmed up for the main acts.
Notable among these were Herman Suede with his team of dancers, Bryan the Mensah, Super Gator and Yung Pabi who was the most impressive.
Although still up and coming, Yung Pabi could easily be mistaken for an established artiste. His lyrics, delivery, choreography and style was heads and shoulders above the rest.
He touched on various social issues such as parental neglect, corruption among others in a unique waywhich is sure to get him on some major stages in the not too distant future.
Yung Pabi was followed by Trigmatic who dazzled the crowd with live band renditions of his old hit singles as well as some new ones.
M.anifest was amazing on the night
M.anifest made his appearance on stage and the crowd was beyond excited. No one expected less than a masterpiece from the god MC and he delivered accordingly. Songs such as Azumah Nelson Flow among others were a huge crowd favourite with King Promise joining him on stage at one point to sing their new single, Me Ne Woa.
Nigerian singer, Simi was easily one of the best artistes of the evening. Her command of the stage, voice, dance moves and her interaction with the audience was world class.
For over 30 minutes, she moved the audience in a way very few people can. Not surprisingly, the energy among the crowd during her performance was among the highest on the night.
Simi and M.anifest on stage
Surprise artiste, Sarkodie, certainly came to add another element of surprise to the event. Due to their highly publicised feud, his appearance was unexpected but much appreciated by the crowd. Although he sang only a single song, Sarkodie made sure he delivered nothing but the best to the fans.
Kwesi Arthur also turned up to thrill audience to a highly charged performance before making way for Nigerian act, Burna Boy. He came on after 2pm but certainly the energy in the crowd was just as high as when the event started.
With crowd favourites such as Gbona, Giddem, Halleluyah, Devil in California and Hosanna, it was not surprising that despite the time he came on, most of the audience was still at the venue singing and dancing nonstop.
Manifestivities, which began five years ago as rapper M.anifest’s headline concert has grown steadily over the years. Given the rapper’s growth over the years it’s only fitting that he should continue to expand his reach.
Overall Manifestivities delivered a premium music experience to patrons who showed their appreciation for the exciting performances they were treated to.
There is no doubt that if the event continues to deliver such high level performances, the Bukom Boxing Arena will not be enough to contain the numbers.
