Award winning gospel artiste Joyce Blessing is advising young women who want to venture into gospel music to be humble since that was a major key to unlocking their success.
“Humility is very important so my advice to them is that they should be humble, they should be willing to learn and also work hard to make money.
“If they are lucky to have someone sponsor them, that is fine otherwise, they will have to work hard to push their works very far,” she told Graphic Showbiz in an interview recently.
Gospel musicians these days have been accused of being too money conscious than winning souls for Christ through their songs but Gospel musician Joyce Blessing believes both are equally important and they go hand in hand.
Joyce Blessing made her point clear in an earlier interview with Graphic Showbiz on Monday, November 28 and she didn’t mince words in expressing her views.
“From my side, I would say the money aspect is important and preaching salvation is also important.
“You see, before you are able to reach a lot of people with the word of God with your music, you need money to push it. When you write a song about salvation and you don’t get money to push it, no one will hear it.
“It is just you and your household who will listen to the song. You need money to invest in the job of getting it out there otherwise you cannot reach where you intend to,’’ she explained.
Asked if she has any regrets whatsoever in her career, Joyce Blessing said, “I have no regrets at all, music has really changed my life and I am so grateful. I am sure if it hadn’t been for music, no one would have known there is someone called Joyce Blessing. Music has really been a blessing to me,” she concluded
