Melania Trump’s documentary is continuing its hot streak on streaming.
The controversial documentary, which Amazon spent $40 million to purchase and another $35 million to market, is currently the third most popular title on the Amazon Prime Video service. At the time of this writing, it is only beat by Nicole Kidman’s new series Scarpetta, and British mystery show Young Sherlock.
It’s unclear by what metric Amazon Prime Video measures a title as being worth of its “Top 10 in the US” category, but all of the titles currently there are Amazon Prime originals.

The streamer’s investment in the film sparked controversy among Trump’s critics. As late-night comedians like Jimmy Kimmel have pointed out, they believe it constituted a direct payment from the company to the Trump family to curry favor with the President and his administration, according to Variety.
Melania was directed by Rush Hour filmmaker Brett Ratner and follows the first lady, 55, in the 20 days leading up to her husband, President Donald Trump’s second presidential Inauguration after he won the 2024 election. The film initially struggled to sell tickets ahead of its release in January, but has since gone on to earn more than $16.5 million worldwide.
As the National Enquirer previously reported, the president reportedly stated that he believes the film could go on to win an Academy Award, with an insider revealing he finds the film “important,” “historic” and “exactly what the Academy wants.”
