Soccer fever gripped the Sekondi environs when the country's premier mobile telecom company, Tigo Ghana, inter communal football tournament made a stop at the weekend in the Western Regional twin city.
In keeping with Tigo Community Soccer tradition, 16 teams from Sekondi participated in the tournament that took place at the Sekondi Methodist Park.
A statement from Togo said, after two days of relentless football action, Kojokrom and European Town battled for the glittering trophy and gold medals.
Having taken the lead late in the second half, Kojokrom was stunned minutes later when European Town equalized.
With only seconds to go, Kojokrom scored the definitive winner through Cromwell Amoah, who went on to claim the Most Valuable Player award. He was awarded a Samsung Smartphone.
The winners, Kojokrom took home the winner's trophy; gold medals, Tigo souvenirs and a cash price of GH¢500.
European Town was consoled with silver medals, Tigo souvenirs and a cash price of GH¢300.
Yensuado took third place and went home with Tigo souvenirs and a cash reward of GH¢200.
