Twelve pregnancy cases have been recorded at seven examination centres in the Agona West Municipality and the Agona East District at the on-going Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
The Agona West also recorded four absentees while four candidates from the Agona East also failed to turn up for the examination.
Mrs Jane Chinebuah, Agona West Municipal Director of Education, made this known during her tour with Mr Jacob Felix Obeng-Forson, Agona West
Municipal Chief Executive, of some examination centres in the two districts.
She said 2,554 candidates are writing the examination at seven centres of the 10 centres in the two districts.
Mr J.F. Boison, the Supervisor at the Centre (B) of Swedru Senior High School, said a female candidate died after registration.
Mr R. K. Gorman, a supervisor at Swedru Senior High school centre "A", said three pregnant girls were taking part in the examination.
