The Management of Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) on Thursday announced that the distribution of Cocoa Hi-Tech fertilisers to farmers of the crop is expected to begin in May this year at GH¢57.99.
A statement issued in Accra said COCOBOD is offering a bag of fertiliser to the farmers at a reduced price of GH¢25 representing a subsidy
of about 57 per cent.
It said this was meant to improve the yield of cocoa farms and enhance incomes of farmers.
The statement said fertilisers could be obtained from cocoa inputs company shops, metropolitan, municipal and district offices of Ministry of Food and Agriculture and cocoa licensed buying companies across the country.
