Kwadwo Kyei, a carpenter, who inflicted cutlass wounds on the head of a driver's mate for patting on the buttocks of his wife has been remanded in prison custody by the Akim Swedru Circuit Court in the Birim South District.
Kyei allegedly cut himself at his hideout to make it look as if he had been attacked by the complainant.
The court presided over by Mr. Kofi Akrowiah, did not take the plea of Kyei who would return to the court on May 12.
Prosecuting, Police Inspector Benjamin Kwadwo Osei said the complainant, Mr. Yaw Barimah and Kyei live at Akim Akokoase.
Sometime in August, last year, at about 1500 hours, the accused went to Mr. Barimah's house to warn him about his amorous advances towards his wife.
He said the complainant did not take kindly to the warning and that resulted in a misunderstanding,
The accused, who had allegedly concealed a cutlass in his trousers, drew it and slashed the face and head of the complainant rendering him unconscious and was rushed to the Oda Government Hospital.
Inspector Osei said at his hideout, Kyei, managed to slash his body with cutlass, with a view to convince the public that Mr. Amoaning rather attacked him.
Kyei then walked to the Akim Ofoase Saint John's Clinic for treatment, after which he was arrested.
