A South African Indian lady has lodged a complaint against a woman who allegedly made racist remarks against black people.
Katija Minty, wife of South African diplomat and atomic energy specialist Abdul Minty, has lodged a complaint in Durban's Equality Court
alleging that the chairwoman of the body administrating the apartment in which she owned a flat made racist statements about black people.
Minty claimed that Mini Horn, chairperson of the administering body, had made derogatory remarks at a meeting with property agents.
Minty alleged that Horn thanked agents "for having ensured that they do not let the units to too many black people and expressed (her) appreciation for this."
Horn has denied making the racist utterance, but has since resigned from her position and apologised "if I in any way hurt anybody, especially Mrs Minty."
