Nana Enyanful IV, Chief of Jedu in the Mfantsiman Municipality, has called on parents to invest in their children's education to become useful future citizens to cater for them during their old age.
He said this is the only legacy that they could bequeath them.
Nana Enyanful said this when he addressed the first batch students of the University of Jesus of Nazareth and their parents at an orientation session held at Mankessim.
The chief said if the children were not given the right education, they would not be capable of handling the affairs of the nation in the future.
He appealed to parents not to shirk their responsibilities to educate the children to acquire knowledge and skills to enable them to contribute to the socio-economic development of the country.
Rev Dr George Alfred Amoah, founder and proprietor of the University, said the university is affiliated to the Dr Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
He said 309 students had been enrolled to do two-year diploma courses in nursing, journalism, business and computer studies.
