The police in the Central Region have re-arrested Kweku Amoah, a 24-year-old hunter who was remanded in prison custody for allegedly killing his elder brother, but bolted when he reported
sick and was receiving medical care at the hospital.
Amoah on June 22 went on a hunting expedition with his brother Kodwo Blankson whom he allegedly took for game and shot him dead.
In a statement released by the Central Region Police Command and signed by its Public Relations Officer (PRO), Inspector Raymond Asaaba,
investigations conducted by the police after his escape revealed that one Esi Saakwa, 35, and Kweku Gariba, 42, his in-laws together with one Kweku Etuah, 24, assisted him to damage his handcuff.
According to the statement Amoah was re-arrested together with his in-laws and Etuah and has been charged with murder and escaping from lawful custody while the three have been charged on four counts of harbouring a criminal, resisting arrest, abetment of crime and causing damage to state property being the handcuff.
The statement appealed to hunters to be extra careful and cautious in their search for game so that they do not sacrifice human life for bush meat.
