A web-browser exclusively targeting Indians, providing user access to the latest national and regional entertainment services, has been
launched by a group of engineers of Bangalore-based software startup Hidden Reflex.
The browser named 'Epic' has been created on the open-source Mozilla platform, enabling any internet user to download the browser for free of cost by logging onto the website www.epicbrowser.com, company sources said.
"Epic provides a uniquely Indian browsing experience. Its India sidebar supports Indian content by providing users access to the latest national and regional news from popular
publications, live television channels, videos, stock quotes, live cricket scores, top music albums and local events," they said.
More than 1500 Indian themes and wallpapers ranging from freedom fighters to famous Bollywood and regional film stars are available in it.
Epic also supports 12 Indian languages, which enables users to write in the vernacular they choose.
Free anti-virus scanning and healing is built into Epic, while another security measure warns users when they are about to visit potentially dangerous websites, sources said.
