The Right Reverend Colonel Retired, Paul A. Brewu, Bishop of the Akyem Oda Diocese of the Methodist Church, has cautioned the youth to guard against negative acts that would lead them to destruction.
He challenged the youth to lead lives worthy of emulation and work hard to achieve success in whatever they do.
Rev. Brewu was delivering a sermon at the Akwatia Circuit of the Methodist Church, to mark the Young Peoples Week at Akwatia, on Monday.
It was the theme: Raising Young Leaders of Integrity for Sustainable Development of the Church and Society, Integrity our Way of Life.
He advised the youth to shun occultism, Sakawa, and any other evil practices that could endanger their lives.
But they should be honest and God fearing so that they would be an asset to the nation and their families.
The Akwatiahene, Osabarima Kofi Boateng III, advised the youth to take education seriously because it was one sure way of attaining success in life.
Nana Akwatiahene noted that the 21st century was the computer era, where Science and Technology determined how far a nation would progress.
The youth, especially of Akwatia, could, therefore, not afford to be left behind in the pursuit of knowledge.
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Akwatia, Dr Kofi Asare, called on the youth to embrace integrity at an early age as they pursued their studies.
He indicated that if they did that it would become their way of life.
Thirty-five people, including the Akwatiahene, the headmistress of the St Roses Senior High School, Mrs. Victoria Amaning, received citations from the Methodist Youth Council of the Akwatia Circuit.
The citation expressed appreciation for their immense support towards youth work in the circuit and for their selfless and dedicated services towards the grooming of the youth and their spiritual development.
