An ethnic Indian woman in Malaysia who is seeking to quash her three children's conversion to Islam by her ex-husband has been threatened by him not to pursue the court battle to get the custody of their youngest daughter, her lawyer claimed Sunday.
M Indira Gandhi's lawyer A Sivanesan claimed that she was told by her ex-husband K Pathmanathan alias Mohd Ridzuan Abdullah that he would not return two-year-old Prasana Diksa to her.
Pathmanathan, who had converted to Islam, warned Gandhi not to pursue the matter any longer, said Sivanesan.
"He can be remanded for intimidation," he said after accompanying Gandhi to lodge a report against Pathmanathan at the Ipoh police station here today.
Sivanesan said that the High Court had granted custody of Prasana Diksa, Karan Dinish, 12, and Tevi Darsiny, 13 to the mother in March.
Prasana Diksa is with the father despite the court order while both her siblings were with Gandhi.
"It has been almost a year and a half and he still has not reunited the child with her mother," said Sivanesan.
