A cold store operator at Hohoe, Margaret Kekesi Fodome-Ahor, has been sentenced to a fine of 100 Ghana Cedis by a Hohoe Magistrate Court for selling consumables without medical certification.
Kekesi pleaded guilty to the charge and was sentenced accordingly by the court presided over by Mr Stanislaus Amanopoi.
Prosecuting, Mr Godstime Anson-Yevu, representative of the Hohoe Municipal Environmental Office, told the court that Kekesi, who operated a drinking bar-cum-cold store, flouted continuously the advice to regularize
her status, after she was identified by a taskforce, in August 2009.
He said in November last year, during a follow-up exercise, it was detected that Kekesi had not complied with the advice, leading to her arrest and sentencing.
