Mr Amankwah Asiamah, Member of Parliament (MP), for Fanteakwa, on Monday donated four lawn mowers valued at GH¢6,000 to the Begoro Government Hospital to facilitate the weeding of the compound.
Presenting the items, Mr Asiamah said the donation was in response to a request made by the hospital authorities during his recent familiarisation visit to the hospital.
He said during the visit he was touched by the deplorable condition of the only lawn mower of the hospital.
The MP said since he had assisted the hospital in diverse ways including the donation of two laptop computers and four air conditioners.
Mr Asiamah said he had also donated four generators to Asare, Kwao Addo Nkwanta, Otuateh and Bosuso medical centres were the facilities lacked electricity.
Receiving the items on behalf of the hospital, the Fanteakwa District Director of Health Services, Dr Christian Nyarko Aduamah, thanked the MP for the gesture and the support he continue to give to the hospital and other health institutions in the district.
He said in spite of the vast nature of the hospital it has only one hospital and five health centres with 10 community based health facilities, which make work very difficult.
Dr Aduamah appealed to the people to register with the National Health Insurance Scheme, which he said was the best way of assessing health care without financial burden.
