The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Agya Appiah Company Limited, producers of water and liquor, has built a 15-bedroom house for the police at Kwaso in the Ejisu-Juaben Municipality.
Agya Kwaku Appiah would not give the cost of the building, but said it was meant to complement the Government’s efforts at providing decent accommodation for the police.
Handing-over the keys at a ceremony, he said, he had the conviction that if the right working conditions were created, the security services could significantly bring down crime in the society.
Agya Appiah pledged to make available a Nissan pick-up to the Kwaso police station to support them to provide adequate security
protection for the law-abiding people in the area.
The Deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, Mrs Anima Wilson, thanked him for the gesture and appealed to the well-to-do to follow his example.
She asked the police to take good care of the facility by making sure that it was kept in good shape at all times.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Patrick Timbillah, the Regional Commander, asked them to maintain high level of discipline and professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
Nana Nketiah Boampong II, Kwasohene, appealed to the Police Administration to post more police personnel to the station.
Presently, there are only two policemen there.
