The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) would mercilessly wipe out the aggressors and surely achieve the historic cause of national reunification, a senior DPRK official said here Thursday.
Kim Yong Nam, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, was speaking at the national meeting to commemorate the 99th anniversary of the birth of the late president Kim Il Sung at the Pyongyang Indoor Stadium.
He called for a fierce all-out offensive and a drive to "make a breakthrough to realize the desire of the president for a great prosperous and powerful nation and thus bring about great changes on all fronts."
He said the army and people of the DPRK would never remain a passive onlooker to the reckless military provocations of the U.S. and South Korean authorities.
The DPRK would as ever make positive endeavors to develop friendly and cooperative relations with all countries friendly to it in the cause of independence, peace and friendship and achieving global independence, he said.
Kim Il Sung was born on April 15, 1912.
