The Registrar General’s Department has announced to the public that, reform actions have been agreed on by the representatives of the Department and Agencies to improve Ghana’s indicators of doing business index.
This was contained in a statement issued in Accra by Mrs Jemima Oware, Ag Registrar General, and copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on Tuesday.
The statement said the Ghana Revenue Authority’s Tax Identification Number (TIN) centre at the Registrar- General’s Department (RGD) is now restricted to only business and companies’ registration applicants effective June 1, 2017.
It said the directive was aimed at reducing both the human and vehicular congestion at the RGD premises in Accra, and also to achieve the President’s commitment to make Ghana the most business friendly economy in Africa.
It advised the public to note that they would not be allowed access into the RGD section, the forecourt of the Department if they are unable to prove their presence with their business registration documents.
It added that GRA staff would not generate TIN for any individual or organisation, unless it was to be used to register a business with the registration documents as proof.
The statement urged individuals and organisations that were in need of TIN for any purpose other than registering a business to visit any of the GRA offices for assistance.
