The Aburihene, Nana Otubuo Djan Kwasi II, has given out large stretch of land for the establishment of a factory under the government’s one-district one-factory policy.
The land, located at Okobeyeyiye, was formerly used for a state farm.
Nana Djan Kwasi said it was his contribution to the effort at helping to create jobs and wealth for the people. He added that there would be no motivation for the young people to drift from the area to Accra and other places when they could find job doing in their community.
Mr. Isaac Kwadjo Buabeng, the Nsawam-Adoagyiri Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), applauded the chief for releasing the land and said it was a good example for the other traditional rulers.
He noted that the municipality had huge potential to produce vegetables and other food stuff for export. The MCE told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that already, planting of cassava, maize and tomatoes, which would serve as raw materials for the factory to be built in there had begun.
