Reroy Cables has donated assorted items to the La Traditional Council in support of their office refurbishment and Homowo celebration. The items worth over GH¢10,000, include cables, wiring accessories, reflectors, paints, Schnapps, bags of maize and a cash of GH¢4,500 to the Council.
Mr Anthony Mensah, the Public Relations Officer of Reroy Cables, said the gesture was part of the company’s corporate social responsibility to reach out to the community, especially the traditional authorities.
He said the donation of the cables was in fulfilment of a request from the Council after their office got burnt and the Company thought it prudent to help give a face lift to the Traditional Council office.
Mr Mensah said their outfit would replicate the gesture to other traditional authorities, since they play a key role in the development of the country and also charged with the responsibility of upholding cultures and conflicts resolutions.
He said the company had donated to other organisations, including the June 3 disaster victims, as part of their commitment to respond to the needs of society. Nii Odotei Adjei, the La Dzassetse, who received the items on behalf of the Council, thanked the company for the donation and pledged to use the items for its intended purposes.
He appealed to other bodies to reach out to the traditional institutions to help them to carry out their mandate in an efficient and effective manner.
