Following consultation with the Council of State, President John Dramani Mahama has nominated 15 individuals for appointment as Ambassadors, High Commissioners and Consul-Generals designated for various countries.
They are the first batch of ambassadorial appointees under President Mahama's new administration.
Hammed Rashid Tunde Ali is heading to the United Arab Emirates with Grace El Mahmoud Marabe also for the United Arab Emirates but specifically to Dubai.
Nii Amasah Namoale, a former Member of Parliament for La Dadekotopon in Greater Accra is heading to the Federal Republic of Brazil with Prof. Kwasi Obiri-Danso, a biological scientist and former Vice Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) heading to India.
Professor Dora Francisca Edu-Buandoh, a professor of English and the first female Pro Vice Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) is also heading to Canada.
Kojo Bonsu, a former Chief Executive for the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has been designated for the People's Republic of China and veteran actress Kulsoume Sinare Baffoe is also heading to the Kingdom of Spain.
