Parent Teacher Association of the Kumasi Technical Institute (KTI) has commissioned a water reservoir in response to persistent water challenge impeding academic activities in the school.
This follows disruptions in water supply from the Ghana Water Limited(GWL) forcing students to miss out on valuable contact hours.
The Kumasi Technical Institute has in recent times experienced frequent water shortages due to supply disconnections from Ghana Water Limited, a situation that has affected teaching and learning.
The Parent Teacher Association of the school found this development troubling and responded by commissioning a revamped water reservoir to address the school’s recurring water challenges.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the Chairman of the Parent Teacher Association, Lowdford Acheamfuor, said the lack of water affects students’ concentration and punctuality during academic activities.
Also, Mr. Acheamfuor appealed to relevant authorities to support the school with additional infrastructure to improve teaching and learning.
“They need chairs in the classrooms. Most of the chairs are broken down and we need to fix them and also add more. We need about 2000 chairs to fill all the classrooms,” he bemoaned.
Representing the Ashanti Regional Director of Ghana Technical and Vocational Education and Training, the Ashanti Regional Auditor, Narcisse Kodjo Dablah, assured that the facility will be properly maintained.
He commended the PTA for the initiative and called on other institutions and stakeholders to emulate the gesture.
