Teachers have been advised not to meddle in the local politics and chieftaincy matters in the communities where they teach in order not to lose trust and the confidence reposed in them by the people.
The Fanteakwa District Director of Education, Ms Mary Animwah, gave the advice at Ahomahomasu during a sensitisation programme on good school-community relations.
Ms Animwah expressed worry on recent reports of alleged threats and assault on life of some teachers in the district.
She advised teachers to adhere to their professional duties and should not consider their mission of sensitising the communities on government policies on education as "a license to misconduct themselves".
Ms Aniwah warned that the District Directorate of Education would take stringent measures against teachers who misconduct themselves in the discharge of their duties.
Miss Anima urged School Management Committees and Parent-Teacher Associations to assist to develop their schools.
