The West Akyem Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Kwabena Sintim-Aboagye, has reminded the assembly's members that their ability to create jobs for the people and to honour the many requests they make concerning their development needs depends on the financial resources available at any give time
"It was for this reason that there is the need for members of the assembly to help in the internally-generation of revenue", he advised.
Mr Sintim-Aboagye, in an address to the assembly at Asamankese on Thursday, stressed the importance of stepping up revenue mobilization to boost the internally generated funds.
He said as at July this year, a total revenue of GH¢110,000 had been realized out of the projected amount of GH¢222,004.
The figure, he said represented 50 percent of the total projected amount for the year.
He said during the same period last year, total revenue of GH¢98,542 was realized, which represented 55 percent of the projected amount of GH¢180,419.
Mr Sintim-Aboagye said this year, a total amount of GH¢325,440 had been received as grants while GH¢527,648 was received last year.
"Thus, we need to collect more revenue by identifying new sources", he said, and hoped the assembly would be able to meet its target by the end of the year.
