The Member of Parliament (MP) for Mfanteseman West, Mr Aquinas Tawiah Quansah, has urged citizens to contribute ideas that would help develop the Constituency.
He said his election as MP did not mean that he commanded all the wisdom or had a magic wand to develop the area, and that "Development can only come to our area through concerted efforts."
Mr Quansah said he would accept to work with genuine ideas and suggestions from the citizens and friends of the area irrespective of their political lineage.
The MP said this at a thanksgiving service, organised by the Constituency at Saltpond on Sunday, to thank God for guiding them through a peaceful elections.
He assured the citizenry that he would see to the completion of projects initiated by his predecessor, Mr Stephen Asamoah Boateng.
"With the elections over, we must bury our differences and forge ahead in unity to develop our communities," he said.
Mr Quansah said he was committed to his promise, during the electioneering campaign, that he would bring parliament to the door-steps of the people through regular interactions.
"Anyone who has a laudable programme or idea, which could be of good use to national development, must not hesitate to let me know for onward transmission to the appropriate quarters," Mr Quansah said.
Pastor William Tetteh Wayo of the Church of Pentecost, Saltpond, said the basis for unity must be derived from Christ who is one with the Father and the Holy Spirit.
Pastor Wayo said with unity, people are fruitful; tension is reduced and there is renewal and revitalisation, while disunity breeds selfishness, quarrels, dissention and hypocrisy.
He urged Ghanaians to see themselves as being one people from one family, one nation, with one destiny and not let the different political affiliations divide them.
