A mine left over from the past wars in Afghanistan injured three Afghan children in northern Baghlan province, member of provincial assembly Fazal Haq Andarabi said Wednesday.
"The children were playing with the toy-shaped device when it exploded wounding the trio while two of them in critical condition, " Andarabi told Xinhua.
Two weeks ago also two children lost their lives while they were playing with explosive powder in the same district.
Afghanistan is one of the most mine contaminated countries in the world as millions of mines have been planted by different warring groups over the past three decades of war and civil strife.
