Zoomlion Ghana Limited on Saturday joined the Ghana Health Service and health partners to commemorate this year's World Malaria Day by engaging in an insecticide spraying exercise at the Accra International Conference Centre.
Mr Abibu Mohammed Zimblim, Head of the Vector Control Unit, Zoomlion, said the gesture was to demonstrate the company's commitment to help reduce malaria cases in the country.
He said the company was engaged in vector control by treating drainage systems, landfills, among others to control mosquito breeding, which caused malaria, elephantiasis, yellow fever and other fevers.
Mr Zimblim said Zoomlion would soon recruit 5,000 people to receive training in insecticide spraying, especially on how to use chemicals and equipment according to the World Health Organisation standards.
He therefore asked corporate institutions, hospitality service providers and individuals to conduct the company for environmentally friendly insecticide spraying and other vector control services.
Mr Ziblim also advised the public to support Zoomlion and government to help control the pandemic.
