The Ministry of Employment and Social Welfare has presented 15 bicycles to members of Community Child Labour Protection Committee in the Atwima Mponua District to enhance their movement for effective monitoring of child labour in the district.
Some of the beneficiary committees include Anhwiafutu, Botrampa, Beposo, Kwame Dwaa, Bayerebon Number Three, Tawiakrom, Oseikrom and Pamuruso.
The rest are Mantukwa,Okyerekrom, Bredi, Aboabogya, Bayerebon Number five and Bedaabour.
Mr. Andrews Nawil, the Atwima Mponua Mponua District Assembly Co-ordinating Director, presented the bicycles on behalf of the Ministry.
Mr. Nawil urged the community Child Labour Protection Committees to carry out aggressive advocacy campaign to eliminate worst forms of child labour in the district.
Mr Abubakar Mohammed, the District Social Welfare Officer, cautioned farmers against allowing their children to carry heavy loads and fetching water for mixing pesticides.
Nana Osei Kwadwo, Chief of Mpawen who received the bicycles on behalf of the beneficiary communities, thanked the donors.
