Barely 24 hours after the inauguration of President John Dramani Mahama at the Independence Square, the venue has become virtually empty.
As at 1100 hours that the Ghana News Agency (GNA) visited the venue, barricades which were mounted at designated points had been removed while officials were seen busily packing off chairs and canopies.
The roads that were closed for the swearing- in ceremony such as the 28th February Road to Customs Division of Ghana Revenue Authority Headquarters to the Castle Junction, Osu cemetery traffic light on the Lokko Street, Osu Cemetery (Starlets 95 Road),Ministries Traffic light and Castle Road from the African Union circle to the Osu Cemetery Traffic light.
Only few security men were at the venue.
Some of the pedestrians who spoke to GNA expressed their excitement about the success of the event and called on Ghanaians to unite for national development.
