The Spiritan University College Wing of the Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has appealed to the President to appoint Mr. Kwaku Ntim Twumasi, a physically-challenged successful businessman, as Ejisu-Juaben Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), citing his passion for excellence and integrity.
The students said although there were other capable men and women, “he stands tall”.
He was someone, who could be trusted to efficiently and transparently manage the resources of the assembly to bring progress to the people in the municipality. The appeal was contained in a statement jointly signed by its President, Franklin Tuffour Boadi, General Secretary, Steven Luanga Adu Poku, and Organizer, Samuel Owusu Ansah.
It said, mindful of the optimism and expectations of the people, they were eager to see the right person appointed as MCE to inject discipline into the management of the assembly’s resources to speed up the development of the area. Mr. Twumasi, they also indicated, “is immensely loved and hugely popular with the rank and file of the party, the chiefs and people”.
The statement applauded what it said was his immeasurable contribution to the “party’s sweet election victory in the constituency in the last December polls, pointing out that, “as a member of the campaign team”, his resourcefulness, hard work and commitment, were simply extraordinary.
Mr. Twumasi, a product of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), served in the British Army, and has been running his own successful business. He has been one of the main pillars of the ruling party in the constituency and was recently recognized by the constituency youth with a citation.
