The Member of Parliament (MP) for Ablekuma West Mrs Ursula Owusu Ekuful, has asked members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to report wrong doings to the right authorities and desist from unlawful acts that will disgrace the party.
“The NPP is presently the governing party and as leaders, you must be well behaved rather than do what will give the public the chance to say things that will defame the leaders and executives of the party,” she said.
Mrs Ekuful who is also the Minister for Communications, was speaking yesterday at the annual delegates conference of the Ablekuma West Constituency in Accra.
The conference which was attended by about 1,500 delegates of the party was in fulfillment of the NPP constitutional mandate which enjoins all constituencies to hold a conference prior to the party’s regional and national conference.
The conference created an avenue for the delegates to take stock of happenings in the party at the constituency level and deliberated on new ideas to make the party successful in the coming years.
Mrs Ekuful asked members of the party to be patient with their leaders as government was working on creating employment avenues for members of the party and to ensure that their sacrifices were rewarded.
She appealed to them to work hard to support the party and ensure that the upcoming polling station and constituency elections were successful and peaceful at the Ablekuma West Constituency for once.
The MP for Ablekuma West entreated anyone who wishes to join the party to do so lawfully, by following the right procedures.
Mr Adjei Sowah, the Mayor of Accra, pledge to serve the party and its members with all humility and to the best of this knowledge.
He stated that government was in the process of establishing digital centers across the country to create more employment for the youth.
“The president has good plans for the nation and we must not do things to burden, him because government will not hesitate to punish wrong doers,” he said.
