Mr Michael Ahwireng, New Patriotic Party (NPP) aspiring Chairman for Akuapem South Constituency, has appealed to the members in the area to vote for him in the upcoming constituency executive elections, to champion the education of the youth.
He said the growth of the nation depends on the education of the youth and urged parents to enroll their children in school to acquire knowledge and the skills needed to manage their affairs.
Mr Ahwireng, who is the Assembly member for Ahyiresu Electoral Area, made the appeal in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Aburi after carrying out campaigns at separate durbars at Ahwerease, Kitase and other communities in the Eastern Region.
He urged the youth to take advantage of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo government’s Free Senior High School policy and study hard to become good future leaders.
The Assemblyman said when given the nod he would lobby for investors and help create job opportunities by establishing fruit processing factories in the area and help curb the migration of the youth to urban centres.
Mr Ahwireng said he would facilitate the establishment and improvement of CHPS compounds and health centres in the communities for quality healthcare delivery to the people.
He pledged to cater for the needs of party executives in the constituency as they strive to improve the welfare of all in the society.
By doing this, he said, we would help the NPP government build a strong team towards the 2020 elections.
