The National House of Chiefs (NHC) has confirmed and acknowledged Ga Mantse, King Tackie Adama Latse II as the substantive Paramount Chief. In a letter, dated April 9, 2018 to the Greater Accra Region House of Chiefs, which was signed by Mr A.K. Essien, the Acting Registrar of the NHC and sighted by Ghana News Agency said Nii Adama Latse is the registered and gazetted as Ga Mantse.
It said: “The person whose name is in the National Register of Chiefs as Ga Mantse is King Tackie Adama Latse, who is known in private life as George Tackie Abia.” The letter said the name of Nii Adama Latse was approved by the NHC and recorded in the National Register of Chiefs on April 24, 2015 and copied to the Greater Accra Region House of Chiefs.
On the same issue, Mr Daniel Tackie, Ga Paramount Stool Dzaase Secretary in a letter urged the media to amend their records by referring to Nii Adama Latse as the Ga Mantse and the President of the Ga Traditional Council as recognised by the NHC. The status of Ga Mantse was necessitated by Mr Nathan Danquah, the Registrar of the Greater Accra Region House of Chiefs in a letter to the NHC, on March 16, 2018.
