Flagbearer hopeful of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, says he is confident of securing overwhelming support from delegates in the Tano North Constituency in the party’s 2026 presidential primaries.

Dr Bawumia, who is touring the Ahafo Region as part of his campaign, said he expects at least 90 per cent of votes in the constituency, building on the 84 per cent endorsement he received during the 2023 contest.

The former Vice President made the remarks during an engagement with delegates on the first day of his regional tour, which also covered the Tano South and Asutifi North constituencies.

He thanked party members for their continued loyalty, describing Tano North’s support as a testament to his enduring relationship with the grassroots.

“I’m home — thank you so much for your support in 2023. I’m pleading with you to give me 90% of your votes, just as you did in the past. I will not let you down when I become President,” he said.
