The Russian truck major Kamaz today said its Indian joint venture with the Vectra Group will
start assembly of its heavy-duty vehicles from next week.
The company would start production from its plant at Hosur near Bangalore from February 25, Kamaz said in a release here,adding the plant has can roll out 5,000 vehicles per annum.
"In March 2009, the partners signed an agreement to form the joint venture Kamaz Vectra Motors, with a designed capacity of 5,000 vehicles per year," a Kamaz release said.
During the first stage, the JV will roll out several right-hand drive truck models using the Kamaz-6540 chassis, and also Kamaz-5460 mainline prime-movers.
Kamaz has 96 plants across the world including Russia, Poland, Vietnam and Pakistan.
