Mr Anthony Efa, a-52-year old banker from Brakwa, was elected the NPP’s Parliamentary candidate for the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa Constituency in the primary held at Nkotunase on Saturday.
He polled 224 votes out of the total votes of 398 to beat two other contestants, Mr Godwill Ansah who obtained 96 votes and Mr Emmanuel Adjei Domson, immediate past chief executive for the area,
who had 78 votes.
The election was conducted by officials from the District Electoral Commission, led by its head, Mr Dowouna Hammond.
Mr Efa in an interview with the GNA, promised to collaborate with the members of the party to vigorously campaign to obtain the Parliamentary seat.
He appealed to the members and sympathisers of the NPP to see themselves as one people and contribute their quota towards the victory of the party in 2012 general election, now that the primaries are over.
