Yemen's acting President, Abdu Rabu Mansour Hadi, says that President Ali Abdullah Saleh is in good condition and will return home within days. Saleh was wounded on Friday when shells struck the presidential palace.
He left for the Saudi capital Riyadh for medical care late on Saturday. Meanwhile rebels roam the streets of the capital Sanaa as speculation mounts on whether President Ali Abdullah Saleh will actually return.
The sound of gunfire rang out over the city, threatening to break the fragile truce between troops loyal to the President and those loyal to Yemen's Hashed tribal federation. Fighting between the powerful tribal group and Saleh's forces in the past two weeks has resulted in hundreds of deaths and caused thousands to flee the capital.
