The Gabon international has netted 10 goals in 11 games this season and the club gave no further reason for dropping him, other than to confirm it was for a breach of discipline.

A statement on Twitter read: "Aubameyang has been removed from the squad for tomorrow's match for disciplinary reasons."

Aubameyang was previously suspended by the club last November when he missed the 1-0 win over Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League for a trip to Milan against then-coach Thomas Tuchel's wishes.

This year, Aubameyang has not found the back of the net since scoring a brace in BVB's 3-2 defeat to RB Leipzig in October -- a run of five consecutive matches without a goal.

Dortmund travel to Stuttgart on Friday as they look to secure their first Bundesliga win since the 2-1 victory at Augsburg on Sept. 30, before next week hosting Tottenham in the Champions League and local rivals Schalke in the league.
