The head coach of Aduana Stars, Yussif Abubakar, has expressed optimism that, his team would win their match against Al Tahadi of Lybia in the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) Champions league match at Dormaa on Wednesday, to maintain their integrity and respect.
“The possibility to reach the money zone, is enough motivation for the players and they have their integrity to protect as well,” he added.
Coach Abubakar said this at a press conference organised by Aduana Stars ahead of their duel against Al Tahadi in the CAF Champions league game at Nana Agyemang Badu I Sports Stadium in Dormaa-Ahenkro.
He said although the Lybians were a formidable side and experienced, they were focused and prepared to match them boot for boot adding that they have mapped out an effective strategy to contain them even with the inclusion of their top striker Ahmed Mofta who was away for the CHAN tournament in Morroco.
He said “before the first match in Egypt their coach had confessed they didn’t know the playing style of Aduana and we also didnt know them very well.
“So its not surprising they wanted to come to Dormaa ahead of time to prepare a well for us. They had studied us and we are also studying them.
“I know they are good in counter attacks and we also did same with 50-50 balls,” he added.
He stated that the motivation in camp was more than he expected, as they knew what the fans, people of Dormaa and Ghana were expecting from them.
Coach Abubakar said they were not under any pressure to win, but were mentality tough to go through.
He said the team was also without any injuries in camp, every one was fit to deliver.
He appealed to supporters to remain resolute and avoid hooting at the coaches and players as that could disrupt their focus.
