Allies began the season impressively after walloping Bechem United 3-0 in their opening game but later suffered the heaviest defeat so far this season when they were lashed 0-6 by Aduana Stars at Dormaa-Ahenkro in their Week Four fixture. The campaign has remained tough for the Tema-based club since then.

However, last Wednesday, Hamzah Abdul Nassiru tapped in a low cross from the right by Nigerien striker, Victorien Adje Adebayor, to earn Allies an important 1-0 victory over visiting Techiman Eleven Wonders. That vital win shot them to the fourth position on the league log with 12 points, having lost their last two matches.

Speaking to the Graphic Sports after the match, the Japanese trainer said: “My team lack experience because they are young and some are as young as 18 years, but we are building upon it and we will get better.”

“I am not happy about where we are and I hope to improve, but I am not worried because there is no pressure on me like when I was at Hearts and I hope we can do better”.

On what inspired his team’s brilliant second-half performance in most of their matches, he said: “It is not my secret but it is a ploy during training and we work on it every day.”

Allies will trek to the Len Clay Stadium at Obuasi to play leaders Ashantigold on Sunday in a Week- Nine fixture.
