Wire Weaving Industries Limited, a leading producer of agro-industrial products, have supported Ghanaian Para athlete, Raphael Botsyo Nkegbe, with a sum of GH¢5,000.00, as he prepares for this year's All African Games and Toyko 2020 Paralympics.
According to Mr. Yasser Aschkar, Managing Director of Wire Weaving Industries, the donation would cater for expenditure for the phase two of his local training, which would be one-month residential training at Cape Coast, where he would have access to Cape Coast Stadium track.
He added that, they supported Botsyo in 2016 during his preparations towards the World Para-athletic Championship, adding that, they believed in his project, which seeks to win gold for Ghana.
Nkegbe, said his target of winning gold for Ghana at the 12th African Games set for 23rd August to 3rd September 2019 in Morocco as well as the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo was on course.
"Winning Gold medal would not only add up to Ghana's medal top but will also give hope and recognition to young and upcoming para-athletes propelling them to aim higher,” Nkegbe said.
He also appealed to individuals, corporate Ghana and the Government to support his project as he believes will yield dividend for the country.
Nkegbe, was also grateful to the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) and the National Sports Authority (NSA), for giving him the needed assistant to facilitate his training program.
