Kumasi Asante Kotoko is unhappy with the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Normalisation Committee over the delay in responding to their petition, with regards to the format for the semi-finals of the Special Competitions.
Kotoko is scheduled to play Hearts in the semi finals of the Special Competition, in a one-off game at the Accra Sports Stadium on June 16.
According to the club's statement signed by Mr. Samuel Sarfo Duku, Communications Director of Kotoko, they were unhappy with the failure of the GFA NC in clarifying the format of the semi final game against their arch-rivals Accra Hearts of Oak.
''Management is of the firm conviction that the posture of the FA is not only disheartening but an impediment to proper planning and preparation ahead of the games.
''Management insists that it has only set of legally binding regulations from the FA in its custody that was accepted by the signing of an attached form and returned to the FA before the start of the tournament and maintains that, the FA has till date not furnished it with the purported revised regulations being referred to,'' the statement said.
The statement said they would only feature in the match against Hearts if only the one-off match was played at a neutral ground with gate proceeds shared equally.
''It is the contention of management and well-meaning persons within the sporting fraternity that the position of Kotoko should not be viewed as one which seeks the potential interest of the club but rather one that epitomizes fairness and equity,'' the statement said.
Kotoko has reiterated their decision not to honour the semis against Hearts if their conditions were not met.
Kotoko has progressed to the quarter-finals of the tier 2 of the NC Special Cup after dispatching Nkoranza Warriors at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.
