The Ghana Armwrestling Federation (GAF) has received support from the Ministry of Youth and Sports (MOYS), Strike Wear, K-Balm and others as the national armwrestling the “Golden Arms” readies to compete in the 10th Armwrestling Africa Championship in Bamako, Mali.
The Golden Arms of Ghana is scheduled to depart the shores of Ghana on Thursday, July 11, with ten athletes to defend their title won in last year's edition.
At a media workout held on Thursday at the Accra Sports Stadium, Mr. Charles Osei Asibey, the President of the GAF, said the MOYS headed by Mr. Isaac Asiamah has taken the cost of air ticket for the athletes, whilst Club Consult Africa (Strike Wear) will also kit the athletes with a home and away jersey at the competition.
Receiving the kits, Mr. Osei Asibey expressed gratitude to Club Consult Africa Director, Yussif Chibsah for supporting the outfit’s campaign at the Africa Armwrestling Championship.
He thanked companies and individuals who have supported the Golden Arms including Kofi Krom Pharmacy, Ghana Revenue Authority, and Opportunity International for coming on board.
He said, “when we contacted Club Consult Africa, he told us, they don’t support only Football but are in for other disciplines. We are very grateful to them.”
Yussif Chibsah, former Black Stars player, said he was elated to be associated with the GAF and believes the partnership would go a long way to help and motivate the team to defend their title in Mali.
