He said, every player in Africa would love the confederation opportunity to showcase his talent to the world on such platforms.

He added that, as a striker and a leader, the survival of the team depends on him and he had the ultimate responsibility to ensure their progress.

AshantiGold would be opening their Confederation Cup campaign against Equatorial Guinea champions Akonangui FC on Saturday at the Estadio La Libertad in Equatorial Guinea.

Speaking in an interview with GNA Sports, the striker said, “I was part of the AshGold team that played in the 2015 CAF champions league, so I know how difficult it would be when playing away games. So we are taking game after game and I believe we will go far".

The Miners would be going into the game with a new coach Ricardo Da Rocha but the skipper noted that, working with a new coach was always difficult  but the entire team has worked hard to adapt to the style.
