2021 AFCON: Don't compare current squad to Stars of 2010 -- Milovan Rajevac

Black Stars coach, Milovan Rajevac, has refused to compare his current crop of players to the 2010 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) squad that finished second in Angola.

The Serbian trainer argued that his current AFCON players lacked the experience of legendary Asamoah Gyan who led the 2010 team to its first final in 18 years.

Ghana need a win over Comoros in their final Group C game to go through to the next stage of the competition after failing to record a win in their previous two matches.

Speaking ahead of the Comoros encounter, Coach Milo called on his players to improve on their performance from the two games when they take on the Les Coelacantes on Tuesday.

“We don’t have the same team as 2010. Not enough time for preparations. We don’t have a player like Asamoah Gyan,”Coach Milo explained.

Coach Milo is expected to make changes to the team that played against Gabon in Yaoundé last Friday with youngster Fatawu Issahaku and Joseph Paintsil expected to play a vital role in the team.

With 40-year AFCON title jinx on their mind, the Stars have a long way to go to reach their performance that sent them to the final in 1992, 2010 and 2015.
